New York Trip
Posted by: | Comments
took a drive over to New York this last week for a few days. Went to The Oak and then fished Burt Dam. Caught allot of fish!! The Oak was just insane!!!! If you have fished the dam at 6 st. And think that was shoulder to shoulder you have no clue. Try fishing a river a little bigger than the rogue but people on both sides of the river. There was allot of fly fisherman there. Most trying to swing egg patterns with about 15 split shots on it. I will give the GRAND RIVER and the People that fish it day to day HIGH MARKS right now!!!! If you know how to fish the Grand River, you can go anywhere around the Great Lakes and out fish any BODY!!! And I’m not just saying that to be saying it. The Runs we have here in the grand are tuff to fish. And when you know how to fish those runs. Slow and slack watewater doesnt phase you a bit. In the Grand it’s all about reading the water. Hitting the seams. SPEED CONTROL AND DEPTH CONTROL. If you don’t have those to things while you fishing you are wasting your time. Anyone can fish. BUT NOT EVERYONE CAN FISH AND CATCH FISH!!!!!!!!!
The Trip took us around 12 hours becasue my buddy had a DUI that wanted to go with me. It should have only took us around 5 to 6 hours cutting across Canada. But we caught the FISH!!!! Caught allot of nice big and meaty Salmon and then when we went to Burt dam. the Browns where every where!!! I did catch my first Atlantic Salmon though. That had to be one of the hardest faught fish I have ever caught in my life.

Slangn and Bangn the FISH at the DAM!!!
Posted by: | CommentsAllot of Salmon have moved in to the Grand River this last week. We was not seeing to many but NOW the Beds are everywhere below the Dam. And if you like the Steely’s there everywhere. And did you know that there hasnt been one day this year that someone has not landed a Steely in the River THIS YEAR!!!! GET OFF THE COUCH AND FISH!!!!
Rogue River a BUST!!!
Posted by: | CommentsFished the Rogue Sunday morning. Got there about the crack of day light and me and joe went from the dam to the golf course and seen about 15 beds and NO FISH!!!
Browns, Steely’s, Salmon, Scams what more do you want?
Posted by: | CommentsSeems like there is allot more Scams, Steelys, Coho, Browns than Chinnok’s right now. My buddy mike went up on the top of Amway yesterday and look down at the river. And he told me that he could not see any Beds around the down town stretch that he could see. The water was low and very clear. I have been hearing allot of Steely’s getting caught right now. That’s a good thing i would rather catch those than a beat up old king any day. But allot of guys are plunk’n Skein at the dam. And just leaving it sit until something comes by and knocks the shit out of it. And others are drifting spawn sacs. Use smaller sacs and light line right now with the river being so clear. But with all the rain we have been getting. It will Dirty up and the lake has turned. So that only means a push of fish are on its way up to the dam. And when they get there. make sure you have your ass down there. Because we have not had a strong push come up yet. We have been catching Salmon now for a month now. But have not seen that big “HOLY SHIT” push up the river yet.
Few guys are still hitting some on spoons and spinners as well. And dont forget about your Crank baits. It just sucks when u loose um.
