The Browns behind the Chrome!!!
Posted by: | CommentsTook my little sister out to the Muskegon River this last week. We never got there until after 2. And there was a ton of Boats up there. Boats on every Bed. It was Kinda sad really. But we did hit a few fish. My little sister got a Brown in. And then caught another Bow.
But you would be amazed if you left the chrome on the bed what you could catch behind them. I don’t mind catching some of the big males behind the hen but I don’t see why more people don’t leave the hens alone up north.
The DNR has cut back stocking so the fisherman have to understand we need those fish to lay there eggs. So we keep getting a nice run of fish every year. My home river is the Grand River. And I don’t mind keeping a few hens out of there from time to time. But there is so many fish in the Grand River it doesnt bother me as bad as if I took a fish up North.
We all like to get out of the city from time to time just to get away and smell some clean air. Watch a eagle go down in the water to catch himself lunch. But the Next time you go up north and see a hen on the bed. leave her alone and let her do what she is there to do.

Time for Gilln and Speculating!!!!!
Posted by: | CommentsTook my daughter out yesterday to catch some fish. Started out to a Private lake out by Gun Lake that had a no gas engine Rule on it. So I took the Motor off and Hooked up the Trolling motor and We was all set to go. Get in the Lake and the Wind was really whipping around. But I was glad I had the Trolling motor with me until I got to the other end of the lake and the Battery Died. DAM!!! Well I had my oars with me so here we go. Nothing is going to stop us from filling are basket with some fresh Spring Gills. Then on of my Oar locks broke. DAM. Now been fishing for 4 hours and only was able to hook up with a spec. No Gills “YET”. Got around to the other side of the lake where my Honey Hole was. And we fished for alittle bit and seen some fish taking some Bugs off the top off the water ;c) Here we go!!! I Put my Fly Rod all together and put a #10 White Wolf pattern on and slurp!!!! Got one on!!! Every cast started to bring um in. Then the evening started to set in and i started to use some leaf worms while my daughter worked the Fly rod. And when I mean work I’m talking about duck because she is 9 years old and you have no clue where that fly line is coming from!!!! But we ended up with a Nice Basket of Gills and we seen a Great Sun Set and made the hassles of the day put a smile on your face!!!!
