Few Steely’s in the River… Turkey’s are gobbln
By · CommentsFew steely’s left in the Grand….. But guy’s are hitting specs along the Shore lines all up and down there River. River Side Park has been doin good with Specs and gills as well. Reeds lake has been hitting some nice Gills and Specs in the Channel.
The turkeys are Starting to Fan Really Good!!! And the Mushrooms are not to far behind them. There Finding allot right now in Souther Ohio. And they Will juust move up NORTH BEFORE YOU KNOW IT.
It’s going to start warming up soon!!! And more people will want to get outside and get some fresh Air.
Take a Kid Fishing thats never been before it WILL CHANGE THERE LIFE!!!!

Here’s Edsenga with a nice Steely he got out of the Rogue. He hit it on Jig’s n Waxy’s. GOT TO LOVE SPRING STEELHEADING!!!! NICE FISH!!!
The Grand River has some Good Numbers of Steelhead Right now. If your Fishing at the Grand River allot of the Guys are ground Bounding Flies and Yarn. 6 to 10 foot leaders have been the Ticket. With Orange and Pink Yarn. Few Guys are Throwing Wobble Glows and Hitting um that way.
If you want to Float Fish, you’ll want to tie up some Big Choker Bags.

What I have been doing is when i tie up my Spawn I always like to try to do is Save the Top of a Pizza Box. And then Lay my Squares on that. Then I will Take ICE DUBBING that you tie Flies with. I have been using Orange, Pink or Chart…. and I Put a Little Pinch of that Ice Dubbing on my mesh before I put my Eggs in there. This will give your bag some Shine and flash…. and I throw 2 or 3 Chart Floaters in there as well. I have been Hitting allot more fishing Tying my Bags this way. I would fish Regular spawn and I would hit some fish few and far between and then I would Tie my bags this way and BAMM FISH ON BABY!!! Let me know how you like it….. The Grand River in Grand Rapids Michigan is doing GOOD!!! If you want to go catch a steely. Get into the Grand River Because you’ll get one. Allot of Guys are catching um on Orange Yarn this year. But others are hitting um Spawn.
I took a few guys out from Southern Ohio that where Bass Fishing Pro’s and he told me “I have fished all over the country all my life best day of fishing ever bar none!!!!” He said his arm never hurt so bad in his LIFE!!! Now THAT’S FISHING THERE!!!! Get the Feeling COME TO GRAND RAPIDS or you’ll miss out on all the action we are having!!!
We went 35 for over 100 Fish at the Dam on Friday!!! I had all mine on Spawn. Been doing something a little different this year with my Bags than i have in the Past. Been taking a little pinch of Ice Dubbing or Crystal Dubbing on my square netting before i put my spawn in there. Gives it a nice little Flash in there and it seemed like if i threw a bag with that in there and then just a regular one. I would get a Hit on the one with some flash allot faster than just a plain one.
I run allot of weight at the dam to with my floats. I’m running a once of weight under my float to keep it down in the Strike zone.
If you are going down in a Boat “BE CAREFUL” Have enough anchor when you go out and have a spare anchor rop incase u need it. IT’S TIME BOYS!!!
By · CommentsLet’s get ready for the Spring RUN IT’S Here!!!!! Fishing a little different this year than past that i have seen. Went out yesterday mornin. And I hit 3 Fish, didn’t land the dam things though until i stopped using spawn and switched to yarn. But All in All I was on the water so I was having a Kick ASS DAY!! I threw spawn all morning few takes, then the Boat Behind me was smackin the Shit out of um. So I had to ask what they where doing. Throwing Yarn!!! Orange yarn…. I hit one on pink yarn but I never started to hit fish until i started to bounce the bottom. The Fish I did hit on Bag’s though. I had larger than Quarter size Bags with Chart. Floaters in um.
The Grand River Its Prime today. We got High Water and its not to muddy but not to clear either. This is the water I LOVE TO FISH!!! Why because i get in the seams allot more. You know dam well that the fish arent going to want to set in that fast current all the time. They like to relax a little to. So start looking for the seams and you’ll hit FISH!!! I promise you that.
Center Run has been doing really good. Better than most But the East Side Boys are putting the Hurt on em to. I seen every drift yesterday dam near one of those guys had one on. If you o down there to fish. WAIT YOUR TURN. Or they will throw you in the RIVER!!!
And if your in a Boat LISTEN!!! To me at 5.5 on the Flow data chart you can go up those dams with a 8 inch drop from your mototr to the bottom of your boat. You can Check the Home Page on the site and start looking at that chart and you’ll be a better fisherman by doing so. The GRAND RIVER IS THE BEST RIVER IN THE NATION FOR ALL FRESHWATER SPECIES!!!! I’ll challenge anyone on that FACT. I Have heard it by to many experts not to think different.
If your in a boat. HAVE ENOUGH ANCHOR WOULD YA. Don’t be throwing cinder blocks out there and then woundering and looking at your buddy asking why your not sticking to the bottom. LISTEN GET SOME CHAIN OR SOME LEAD. AT LEAST 65 pounds I run 85 pounds for my little 14 foot river boat and for the 20 foot jet we run around 90 to 110. And dont fart when your trying to lift that weight when you dont have a wench.
