Feb. 17th Fishing Heating up
Posted by: | CommentsWent down to the River Feb.14. And Fished the Dam. Never got a Bite the Wind was Blowing and it was just nasty out. So i waited on a few buddies to come up from Battle Creek and we went down River and Started to Hit the Fish.
With the Low water we have had all winter long the Fish are Holed up. You find you a good Hole and there is going to be a few fish in it. We fished spawn and jigs for awhile never never hit anything. But then I threw on a spinner and BAM. There he was son. Got a Brown on the Line and the fight was on. After that i threw a few more cast and hit another BROWN. All in ALL I hit 3 Browns all on Spinners. And then Landed a Steelhead and then Lost another Steelhead at the Boat. The Grand River is Big and there is allot of water to Fish. Find the Log Jams,Eddy’s and the Holes and you’ll Find Some Fish.
Feb. 13th Water is about to start to come up!!!

It’s going to start getting Warmer this week. Good time to get your fishing gear ready. When the water raises up those fish get there tail up river. When its on the rise the steelhead are on the move. And then after it Peeks, about three days after the water peeks there will be steelhead every where.
Float Fish with Jigs and Spawn. And don’t forget to bounce the bottom for steelhead either. If your throwing spawn. One of my go secret’s for HIGH WATER. Is to put about a one inch piece of yarn on for steelhead. And then If I have skein I cure. I save the JUICE and put it in a Bottle and squirt. That Steelhead juice on the yarn with my choker bag.
Walleye are in the river right now to. The Big Hens will be here really soon!!! This next month will be the BEST time of the year for you to hit a trophy WALLEYE!!!! Use Buck tail jigs and Body Baits. Throw small body baits up and down the grand river for walleye and you will be amazed!!!
GEt out and go FISHING it’s only getting better day by day!!!!

Posted by: | CommentsThe 2010 Grand Slam Mode is on!!!! Fish are in!!!! Not huge numbers yet but there in. Good time to catch a Grand Slam!!!!! Steely,Coho,King,Brown or maybe a Laker. There in there!!!!
Allot of Guys are Dead Drifting flies. CannonBall and about a 4 to 6 foot leader. Light line because the water is so low and clear right now. Running enough weight to just tick the bottom of the river. Running about a 1/4 once of lead or lighter right now. Others are Plunkn about a 1/2 oz of lead at the Dam with about a 2 foot leader with a Half a Crawler. And Just letting it sit there. You dont know what youll pick up then. There using a Half of a crawler so you kinda elimanate the chance of short Bites on um. A few Float fisherman are running some bags but more of the fish are getting caught Dead drifting right now.
This Steelhead was caught on the east side of the river this morning. Johnny is a local River Rat that has caught more fish in his teens than most people catch all there life. Hard Core Fisherman that isnt afraid to stay up all night just to wait to get a FISH ON!!!
