IT’S TIME BOYS!!!
Posted by: | CommentsLet’s get ready for the Spring RUN IT’S Here!!!!! Fishing a little different this year than past that i have seen. Went out yesterday mornin. And I hit 3 Fish, didn’t land the dam things though until i stopped using spawn and switched to yarn. But All in All I was on the water so I was having a Kick ASS DAY!! I threw spawn all morning few takes, then the Boat Behind me was smackin the Shit out of um. So I had to ask what they where doing. Throwing Yarn!!! Orange yarn…. I hit one on pink yarn but I never started to hit fish until i started to bounce the bottom. The Fish I did hit on Bag’s though. I had larger than Quarter size Bags with Chart. Floaters in um.
The Grand River Its Prime today. We got High Water and its not to muddy but not to clear either. This is the water I LOVE TO FISH!!! Why because i get in the seams allot more. You know dam well that the fish arent going to want to set in that fast current all the time. They like to relax a little to. So start looking for the seams and you’ll hit FISH!!! I promise you that.
Center Run has been doing really good. Better than most But the East Side Boys are putting the Hurt on em to. I seen every drift yesterday dam near one of those guys had one on. If you o down there to fish. WAIT YOUR TURN. Or they will throw you in the RIVER!!!
And if your in a Boat LISTEN!!! To me at 5.5 on the Flow data chart you can go up those dams with a 8 inch drop from your mototr to the bottom of your boat. You can Check the Home Page on the site and start looking at that chart and you’ll be a better fisherman by doing so. The GRAND RIVER IS THE BEST RIVER IN THE NATION FOR ALL FRESHWATER SPECIES!!!! I’ll challenge anyone on that FACT. I Have heard it by to many experts not to think different.
If your in a boat. HAVE ENOUGH ANCHOR WOULD YA. Don’t be throwing cinder blocks out there and then woundering and looking at your buddy asking why your not sticking to the bottom. LISTEN GET SOME CHAIN OR SOME LEAD. AT LEAST 65 pounds I run 85 pounds for my little 14 foot river boat and for the 20 foot jet we run around 90 to 110. And dont fart when your trying to lift that weight when you dont have a wench.

Been Hearing Reeds LAKE has been fishing really good. Specs at 30 to 40 foot of water. Pike getting caught as well as gills and Perch.
Get out of the house and go ice fishing!!!

We had a good Hunt, Lots of Ducks. And We had some Geese Workin but when they would start working it was like the Ducks would come in to try to take over the field we was in.

You called in Sick because you have been hearing about everyone catching allot of fish in the Grand River. You pick your buddy up in the morning and launch at 6 st. on the east side boat launch. And you are so dam excited you are about ready to just lay the Smack Down on um!!!!! You get there super early to get the first spot up by the dam and you pull really close to the dam to try to get your anchor to hold. And you have dam near 100 pounds on the end of your anchor rope just to get you to stay put. You finally get settled in and you shut your motor down. And it’s 6 in the morning, still dark out. You throw in a few times and you hear a Big SPLASH!!!!!!!!!!!! A HUGE TREE JUST CAME OVER THE DAM AND IT’S COMING RIGHT AT YOU AND BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN REAL YOUR LINE IN THAT TREE IS CAUGHT ON YOUR ANCHOR ROPE AND ITS TAKING THE FRONT OF YOUR BOAT UNDER WATER!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU DO???!!!??? CUT YOUR ANCHOR ROPE!!!!!!!! ARE YOU READY????? aRE YOU READY TO REACT IN 3 SEC???? BECAUSE IN 1 SEC A TREE CAN COME OVER THAT DAM AND SWALLOW YOU AND YOUR BOAT!!!!!
Do you have a knife ready?? Is your knife ready to get grabbed and cut your anchor rope to save you and your buddys lives? And do you have a spare rope with a spare anchor to hold you incase your motor didnt start so you dont go over the coffer dam and flip your Boat? Do you have a pair of oars in your boat so if your spare anchor doesnt grab hold, you are able to ROW down the west side shoot of the coffer dams?
I have known a few guys that where fishing the grand and they where 150 yards away from the dam. Tree came over the dam and came there way. people where yelling at um to get out of the way and they took there time and before they got there anchor rope up the tree was already sliding there boat back. Then the anchor caught and the tree took the front of there boat down and flipped there boat. that force of the river WILL KILL YOU point blank!!! Something to think about next time your on the “GRAND” River.
