Feb. 17th Fishing Heating up
Posted by: | CommentsWent down to the River Feb.14. And Fished the Dam. Never got a Bite the Wind was Blowing and it was just nasty out. So i waited on a few buddies to come up from Battle Creek and we went down River and Started to Hit the Fish.
With the Low water we have had all winter long the Fish are Holed up. You find you a good Hole and there is going to be a few fish in it. We fished spawn and jigs for awhile never never hit anything. But then I threw on a spinner and BAM. There he was son. Got a Brown on the Line and the fight was on. After that i threw a few more cast and hit another BROWN. All in ALL I hit 3 Browns all on Spinners. And then Landed a Steelhead and then Lost another Steelhead at the Boat. The Grand River is Big and there is allot of water to Fish. Find the Log Jams,Eddy’s and the Holes and you’ll Find Some Fish.
The Browns behind the Chrome!!!
Posted by: | CommentsTook my little sister out to the Muskegon River this last week. We never got there until after 2. And there was a ton of Boats up there. Boats on every Bed. It was Kinda sad really. But we did hit a few fish. My little sister got a Brown in. And then caught another Bow.
But you would be amazed if you left the chrome on the bed what you could catch behind them. I don’t mind catching some of the big males behind the hen but I don’t see why more people don’t leave the hens alone up north.
The DNR has cut back stocking so the fisherman have to understand we need those fish to lay there eggs. So we keep getting a nice run of fish every year. My home river is the Grand River. And I don’t mind keeping a few hens out of there from time to time. But there is so many fish in the Grand River it doesnt bother me as bad as if I took a fish up North.
We all like to get out of the city from time to time just to get away and smell some clean air. Watch a eagle go down in the water to catch himself lunch. But the Next time you go up north and see a hen on the bed. leave her alone and let her do what she is there to do.

Winter Time Steely Fishn
Posted by: | CommentsBeen slower than hell the last few days. Friday we went 1 for 5 and then today monday Feb. 15 we where 1 for 3. Fished are ass off just to get that fish. Seen a few Guys on The east wall hit a few though. Jigs and Wax Worms have been really good. We have been shakin our Jigs to get um to hit. We have been Throwing a few bags to. The water is Gin Clear right now. Using 3 1/2 foot of 4 lb Floro. To the Float. Center Run the Quary Hole, Coffer Dam and the High Way Run has been prodeccing most of the fish. If your going down… get ready to fish your ass off for just a few fish. We need that water to come up to give us a new Push of fish up.
