Feb. 13th Water is about to start to come up!!!

It’s going to start getting Warmer this week. Good time to get your fishing gear ready. When the water raises up those fish get there tail up river. When its on the rise the steelhead are on the move. And then after it Peeks, about three days after the water peeks there will be steelhead every where.
Float Fish with Jigs and Spawn. And don’t forget to bounce the bottom for steelhead either. If your throwing spawn. One of my go secret’s for HIGH WATER. Is to put about a one inch piece of yarn on for steelhead. And then If I have skein I cure. I save the JUICE and put it in a Bottle and squirt. That Steelhead juice on the yarn with my choker bag.
Walleye are in the river right now to. The Big Hens will be here really soon!!! This next month will be the BEST time of the year for you to hit a trophy WALLEYE!!!! Use Buck tail jigs and Body Baits. Throw small body baits up and down the grand river for walleye and you will be amazed!!!
GEt out and go FISHING it’s only getting better day by day!!!!

First few hours in the morning have been ok and then the last few hours have been ok with the middle of the day around 1 pm doing good as well. But I’m not going to tell ya that you are going to go down there and pull a ton of fish out. We have been waiting for the lake to turn over to bring a nice push of fish up and it just hasnt really happenend yet. But the Guys that are getting um are using spawn. I have been using Skein Chart. or Pink bags witha few red floaters in there. With the water dropping back down I would try to Find more holes to fish. ANd then just stick and move. Fish the Hole for a little bit and then move if your not smacking anything. Some Guys are hitting um on Spoons and Hot n Tots as well. And a few are throwing thundersticks.
The Guys off the Fulton street are getting off the bridge by 9 am. With the Easrt Side of the bridge hitting the most fish. And if you have never bridged fish. This is a really good time to fish the bridges in Grand Rapids Michigan. All you do is Tie on a Hot n Tot and give her some line and make sure your Plug is running true. Whats nice about right now. Is not all the leaves are in the water yet. So your plugs can stay wet a little longer than normal. Try using Chrome with a Red Lip But Gold with a red Lip has been hitting as many fish as anything down there. If you go down in the morning you will see the old timers with there cup of Coffee talkin with the boys and waiting for there rods to go off. And when u go down there watch there rods. They have um tied down because when that SOB hits your rod. you better make sure your there or your Rod will take the big Drink.
Walleye!!! Don’t forget about the wallys!!!! Shallow water at night has been producing the most fish. Use small Stick baits and if your getting hooked up allot. Take that front hook off of it.
Not to many fish in the smaller creeks just yet but they are starting to hit some in Buck Creek and Plaster as well. Have a good time and stop by the Store we have some new Inventory in.

Took a few buddy’s out with me yesterday on the Grand River. The Fishing was Slow but we Landed 4 Steely’s. I was running Jigs and waxy’s And hit a few fish with nothin to come about. But Jeff was hitting a few fish on the Pin. With nickel to quater Size Spawn Sacs. White and Chart. was the ticket 2 on each color. We wasnt even fishing all the deep just about 3 1/2 foot. Fished at the dam at first with no takes and then dropped down in the boat and started to stick um. Talked to one guy that was throwing Gold and Black hot-n-tots and had one.
Updates will be about everyday now. Hunting is about over and the guided trips will slow down unitl goose and duck open back up.
But if your getting some cabin fever get out of the house because there are fish to be caught out there!!!
