And Fished the Dam. Never got a Bite the Wind was Blowing and it was just nasty out. So i waited on a few buddies to come up from Battle Creek and we went down River and Started to Hit the Fish.

 With the Low water we have had all winter long the Fish are Holed up. You find you a good Hole and there is going to be a few fish in it. We fished spawn and jigs for awhile never never hit anything. But then I threw on a spinner and BAM. There he was son. Got a Brown on the Line and the fight was on. After that i threw a few more cast and hit another BROWN. All in ALL I hit 3 Browns all on Spinners. And then Landed a Steelhead and then Lost another Steelhead at the Boat. The Grand River is Big and there is allot of water to Fish. Find the Log Jams,Eddy’s and the Holes and you’ll Find Some Fish.

First few hours in the morning have been ok and then the last few hours have been ok with the middle of the day around 1 pm doing good as well. But I’m not going to tell ya that you are going to go down there and pull a ton of fish out. We have been waiting for the lake to turn over to bring a nice push of fish up and it just hasnt really happenend yet. But the Guys that are getting um are using spawn. I have been using Skein Chart. or Pink bags witha few red floaters in there. With the water dropping back down I would try to Find more holes to fish. ANd then just stick and move. Fish the Hole for a little bit and then move if your not smacking anything. Some Guys are hitting um on Spoons and Hot n Tots as well. And a few are throwing thundersticks.

The Guys off the Fulton street are getting off the bridge by 9 am. With the Easrt Side of the bridge hitting the most fish. And if you have never bridged fish. This is a really good time to fish the bridges in Grand Rapids Michigan. All you do is Tie on a Hot n Tot and give her some line and make sure your Plug is running true. Whats nice about right now. Is not all the leaves are in the water yet. So your plugs can stay wet a little longer than normal. Try using Chrome with a Red Lip But Gold with a red Lip has been hitting as many fish as anything down there. If you go down in the morning you will see the old timers with there cup of Coffee talkin with the boys and waiting for there rods to go off. And when u go down there watch there rods. They have um tied down because when that SOB hits your rod. you better make sure your there or your Rod will take the big Drink.

Walleye!!! Don’t forget about the wallys!!!! Shallow water at night has been producing the most fish. Use small Stick baits and if your getting hooked up allot. Take that front hook off of it.

Not to many fish in the smaller creeks just yet but they are starting to hit some in Buck Creek and Plaster as well. Have a good time and stop by the Store we have some new Inventory in.

Allot of Guys are Dead Drifting flies. CannonBall and about a 4 to 6 foot leader. Light line because the water is so low and clear right now. Running enough weight to just tick the bottom of the river. Running about a 1/4 once of lead or lighter right now. Others are Plunkn about a 1/2 oz of lead at the Dam with about a 2 foot leader with a Half a Crawler. And Just letting it sit there. You dont know what youll pick up then. There using a Half of a crawler so you kinda elimanate the chance of short Bites on um. A few Float fisherman are running some bags but more of the fish are getting caught Dead drifting right now.

This Steelhead was caught on the east side of the river this morning. Johnny is a local River Rat that has caught more fish in his teens than most people catch all there life. Hard Core Fisherman that isnt afraid to stay up all night just to wait to get a FISH ON!!!

With the Sun we have been having and the warmer weather we have been having has put a spice of life back in the grand. The Fish the last few days have been hitting the dam in the morning time. and then Dropping back in the deep holes during the day to get out of the Sun. But you will still hit um at the dam though all day long just not as good. At the dam allot of guys are drifting Flies and then bouncing and floating and plunking Spawn and Skein Pink has been hot at the dam. And a few are using Salted Shiner Minnows as well. And then drifting spawn and bouncing spawn in the holes as well with Jigs and Waxy’s. This year allot more guys are hitting fish on fulton st back bouncing spawn and running plugs off there.

Boat anglers down river are Back bouncing spawn and Plugging the Holes. And also Running Jigs tipped with waxy’s in the holes too.

Last year around March 15th was the peek of the run. We have not had that much water all winter long. And with the up coming rains on there way this next week we are all going to see a nice push of fish. I think the peek of the run is still a few weeks out. They have been Holing up down River, But when they make there run up river its going to be total MAYHAM!!! Get out there and wet a line!!!!!

Jigs and Wax Worms have been really good. We have been shakin our Jigs to get um to hit. We have been Throwing a few bags to. The water is Gin Clear right now. Using 3 1/2 foot of 4 lb Floro. To the Float. Center Run the Quary Hole, Coffer Dam and the High Way Run has been prodeccing most of the fish. If your going down… get ready to fish your ass off for just a few fish. We need that water to come up to give us a new Push of fish up. Fishn the Grand
